Flagship hardtops
The PURPLE LEAF 10×12 Bronze and the Kozyard Alexander 12×14 are the models most buyers compare. Both claim heavy-duty aluminum frames: PURPLE LEAF says its 4.7 inch frame is “20% wider” than average, while Kozyard specifies 4.7 x 4.7 inch triangular poles and 5 x 4 inch beams. Kozyard is more specific about the roof, a 29-gauge galvanized steel panel with an integrated gutter. PURPLE LEAF states a higher snow figure (3,000 lbs vs 2,500 lbs), while Kozyard is the one that also states a wind figure, 60 mph, and ties both to proper anchoring. Both include curtains and netting on a dual track. Owner ratings are close: 4.7 stars from about 1,450 ratings for the PURPLE LEAF pool and 4.6 stars from about 1,550 for the Alexander.
Smaller hardtops
For a 10×12, Kozyard’s Caesar 10×12 is lighter at about 288 lbs, with 4 x 4 inch triangular posts and included netting and curtains. It has a small review pool (about 65 ratings at 4.7 stars). PURPLE LEAF’s 10×12 Bronze weighs close to 300 lbs and has a much deeper review history. If owner feedback matters most, PURPLE LEAF has the edge at this size.
Pergolas
PURPLE LEAF is the clear choice if you want options. Its 94AS louvered pergola 12×14 adjusts “from 0° to 90°” with two independent roofs and is rated for 72 mph when fully secured, and its 12×16 retractable pergola has about 1,490 ratings. Kozyard sells a 12×16 louvered pergola rated for 65 mph when properly anchored and the Morgan retractable pergola. Kozyard notes that on the Morgan “the clearance between the pole is lesser than the size of the pergola,” so check the drawing.
Warranty and support
PURPLE LEAF lists longer coverage on the roof (5 years) on several hardtops. Kozyard lists a 1-year limited warranty but promises parts availability and names U.S.-based service teams, and on the Morgan says it will “provide reasonable price for parts after 1 year.” If after-sale parts matter to you, that commitment is worth weighing against the shorter term.

- You want the widest choice of sizes, colors, and pergola styles.

Skip PURPLE LEAF if you want a stated wind rating on the specific hardtop you are buying and the listing does not give one. Skip Kozyard if you need a size it does not make, or if the 1-year term is a deal-breaker for you.

How we put this comparison together
We grouped each brand’s listings in our product catalog by model, so size and color variants that share one review pool count once, then compared frame and roof materials, what is included, manufacturer wind and snow figures, stated warranties, and owner ratings. Ratings and stock were rechecked on October 23, 2026 and will change. Wind, snow, and warranty figures are manufacturer claims, not our own measurements. Our evaluations are based on manufacturer specifications and aggregated owner feedback.
