Sunjoy and Kozyard are both mid-size gazebo brands with focused ranges, but they lean in different directions. Sunjoy is best known for cedar-framed gazebos under steel roofs and for lighter seasonal shelters. Kozyard concentrates on aluminum hardtops sold under model names such as Alexander and Caesar, plus grill gazebos. This Sunjoy vs Kozyard guide compares what each brand actually offers.

Permanent gazebos
The two flagship models are very different builds. The Sunjoy 11×13 cedar gazebo uses four 5.5 x 5.5 inch cedar posts with double-layer beams and a 2-tier steel roof, weighs about 430 lbs, and has 4.3 stars from about 360 ratings. Its gable-roof sibling, the Sunjoy 11×13 cedar gable gazebo, states snow loads up to 2,500 lbs and winds up to 50 mph. The Kozyard Alexander 12×14 is all aluminum and steel, with 4.7 inch triangular poles, a 29-gauge galvanized steel roof with gutters, included curtains and netting, and a stated 2,500 lb snow load and 60 mph wind rating when properly anchored. It has 4.6 stars from about 1,550 ratings. For a smaller footprint, Kozyard’s Caesar 10×12 fills the gap.
The choice comes down to wood or metal. Cedar needs periodic sealing or staining; aluminum mostly needs cleaning. See Gazebo Materials Explained.
Seasonal and grill shelters
Sunjoy has the broader seasonal range: a 9×9 steel soft top that weighs about 52 lbs and fits “a 6-seat dining set,” and an 11×11 hexagon pop-up that packs into a carry bag. For grilling, Kozyard is the stronger pick in our data. The Kozyard Andra 8×5 has a vented 180 GSM canopy, a powder-coated steel frame, and 4 battery LED lights, and shares a pool of about 840 ratings with Kozyard’s 6×8 hardtop grill gazebo. Sunjoy’s grill gazebos in our catalog either have very few ratings or are currently out of stock.
Warranty and support
Kozyard lists a 1-year limited warranty with “guaranteed parts availability” on the Alexander and names U.S.-based service teams in New Jersey and California. We did not find warranty terms on the Sunjoy listings we track, though they mention an “experienced customer service team.” Ask Sunjoy for terms in writing before you buy.

How we put this comparison together
We grouped each brand’s listings in our product catalog by model, so size and color variants that share one review pool count once, then compared frame and roof materials, what is included, manufacturer wind and snow figures, stated warranties, and owner ratings. Ratings and stock were rechecked on October 23, 2026 and will change. Wind, snow, and warranty figures are manufacturer claims, not our own measurements. Our evaluations are based on manufacturer specifications and aggregated owner feedback.
